  45. TEXT & GRAPHICS DISPLAYER - FULLVIEW
  46.  
  47.     To find out all about FullView's features, read the "FullView_doc" on
  48.   the MD24_B disk or our Catalogue disk, or press the HELP key right now,
  49.   or select HELP from Fullview's menu. Fullview has many alternatives, specifically
  50.   the ability to move up and down through the files at variable speed
  51.   using the mouse - try it now: click the mouse once to move up or down
  52.   depending on whether the mouse is in the top or bottom half of the
  53.   screen; click again to stop.  To exit a file press "q" or "ESC" or use
  54.   the menu QUIT. Experiment with it, you can run it by mouse, menu or
  55.   keyboard (arrow keys) as it suits you.

  61.  KILLING VIRUSES

  63.     Regarding disk infestations - we have the excellent program
  64.   Virus-Checker by John Veldthuis on this issue in the Virus drawer - use
  65.   it to eradicate all viral problems, bootblock or file type.

  67.  GRAPHICS
  68.  
  69.     To exit the graphics in the HARDWARE drawer and elsewhere, click
  70.   the left mouse button in the top left corner of the picture; or press
  71.   the ESC key; or press the "q" key. (It's almost hard to stay in them!)

  74.  PRINTING OUT FILES - AND STRIPPING ESCAPE CODES
  75.  
  76.     Fullview will print out any file from the Menu - either the current
  77.   page or the whole file.
  78.  
  79.     Some printers don't like the Escape Codes that we put in the text
  80.   files to liven it up - the NX1000 colour printer tends to print out
  81.   slowly in colour, for example. Randall Crook took this problem in hand
  82.   and wrote us a little utility called SCSTRIP which takes a normal text
  83.   file (ASCII file) and strips out the codes. They can then be printed in
  84.   any normal way. Check the program out in the MD_INFO drawer of MD24.
  85.   Meanwhile, you'll have to SAVE the files you want to print, from the
  86.   Fullview menu - up will pop a requestor so you can save it to some place
  87.   with some name (perhaps RAM:FILE). Then use SCSTRIP on it to strip the
  88.   codes, and then you can print it out, with Fullview if you wish, by
  89.   LOADing it in via the menu again.

  91.    Note that Chas Wyndham's program Re-View in the Programs drawer of
  92.   issue MD30 is very useful for converting MD text files to files that are
  93.   easily read by other text readers - ie, it adds codes to the ends of
  94.   lines.

  97.   issue 31 will, amongst other things, strip the colour codes from the files
  98.   on any issue of Megadisc.

  118.                         ABOUT THE MD32 MAIN ICONS

  124.    These icons were prepared by Leigh Murray, based on the Julia picture by
  125.   Erik Harting on MD30.

  127.    The Hi-Res Interlaced picture was first converted to the Hi-Res
  128.   Non-Interlaced format used for icons.  The number of colours was reduced to
  129.   four, and the palette changed to match the standard Workbench 1.3 colours.
  130.   Several versions of the picture were made, using different colour
  131.   combinations.  Then the colour registers were swapped so that the colours
  132.   were allocated to registers in the standard Workbench 1.3 order (colour 0
  133.   blue, colour 1 white, colour 2 black, and colour 3 orange).  The
  134.   image-processing portion of DeluxePhotoLab, Colors, was used for all these
  135.   conversions.

  137.    The resulting modified picture was loaded into DeluxePhotoLab Paint.  Much
  138.   cutting and pasting later, the icon images were saved as brushes.  These
  139.   brushes were imported into the IE icon editor program for transformation
  140.   into the final icon.
